Fernando Monje accomplished his mission to clinch the FIA European Touring Car Cup by winning both the final races last weekend at Imola at the wheel of a SUNRED Engineering SEAT León TDi car.
Now the 19-year old Spaniard will focus on the WTCC. After making his maiden appearance at Valencia, also in a SEAT León TDi, he will take part in the remaining overseas events driving a SEAT León WTCC powered by the new 1.6-litre turbo engine.
“I am fully focused on the WTCC, I love the cars and the championship. I will have to fight hard because there are fantastic drivers and I don’t know the tracks. For this year my aim is to learn as much as I can to be ready for 2013,” said Monje.
