Delecour plans IRC return in Romania
"There are still some details to complete"
Rallying legend François Delecour will return to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge on Sibiu Rally Romania in July and says he isn’t prepared to settle for second best.
Delecour, 49, contested Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse last month in a Renault Mégane RS and was a podium finisher in both the IRC Production Cup and IRC 2WD Cup. He is set to switch to a Peugeot 207 Super 2000 for the mainly gravel round from 20-22 July when he will be targeting overall victory.
“There are still some details to complete but if I do the rally it will be in a Peugeot and I will be aiming to win,” said Delecour, who is supported by Romanian backers. “The car is very well balanced and Romania is like a second home to me.”
