Dahlgren’s WTCC dream alive
"A valuable asset for Polestar Cyan Racing"
Robert Dahlgren will still play a vital role in Polestar Cyan Racing’s FIA World Touring Car Championship campaign in 2016 – even though he wasn’t handed one of the two race seats on offer for next season.
The former karting and single-seater ace has experience of racing Volvos in the WTCC with 34 starts to his name between 2007 and 2011.
While Dahlgren’s priority in 2016 will be his Scandinavian Touring Car Championship bid alongside Prince Carl Philip, he will join WTCC racers and fellow Swedes Thed Björk and Fredrik Ekblom in helping to hone the Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 into a winner.
“Robert is a valuable asset for Polestar Cyan Racing and we are glad to have him on board as driver for the STCC and part of our WTCC development programme,” said Christian Dahl, CEO of Cyan Racing.
Dahlgren, 36, is a three-time STCC runner-up. He will also assist Polestar with the development of its various road-going models.
