In Paris last Friday, in the hearing for the appeals lodged by Chevrolet, the International Court of Appeal annulled decisions n. 1 and 2 taken by the Panel of Stewards on 30 October 2010 at the FIA WTCC event in Okayama that authorized the BMW cars of Augusto Farfus and Andy Priaulx to use sequential gearboxes.

Therefore the Court excluded both cars from the results of the event. This means that Colin Turkington inherited victory in the second race (his first WTCC win) and Yvan Muller is out of reach in the Drivers’ Championship, as he now lies 55 points ahead of Gabriele Tarquini.

The Court also ordered that, with regard to the event in Macau, any compensation weight to be attributed to Farfus’ and Priaulx’s cars in accordance with Article 79 of the WTCC Sporting Regulations, be calculated on the basis of their results during the three events preceding the Japanese one.
