Busy times for Robert Dahlgren
STCC after WTCC
Robert Dahlgren will make it two four races in two continents in the space of seven days when he resumes his Scandinavian Touring Car Championship bid on Sunday.
Dahlgren was on duty for Polestar Cyan Racing at FIA WTCC Race of Argentina last weekend and will continue his busy recent schedule by taking part in the STCC event at Karlskoga in his native Sweden in another factory Volvo.
“I am going for revenge this weekend and my goal is to use the frustration and disappointment from Falkenberg [where I retired from both races] to get a great weekend at Karlskoga with as many points as possible,” said Dahlgren. “I’ve been longing all summer to get back racing in Sweden again.”
Dahlgren pitted in the closing stages of the Opening Race in Argentina to carry out set-up improvements to his Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 for a renewed attack in the Main Race. He ended up six tenths of a second from the fastest lap having been more than two seconds off the pace in qualifying.
“Our goal for the races was to gain data for next year and to gain on the frontrunners, something that we achieved and that I am pleased with,” added Dahlgren, who continues his WTCC campaign with Polestar Cyan Racing in Japan next month.
