BMW cars lose 20 kilos for Oschersleben

The BMW 320 TC is granted a further weight reduction for the next WTCC event at Oschersleben.

In the calculation of the compensation weight based on the lap times set in the three previous events (Czech Republic, Portugal and UK), the FIA decided to allocate a common notional lap time to all the cars for Donington Park’s qualifying that were affected by changeable weather conditions. The Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T remains the reference car and will be carrying again the maximum weight of 40 extra kilos.

The BMW 320 TC cars will be 40 kilos lighter than the Chevy, 20 less than they were in Donington Park; the SUNRED SR León 1.6T cars will also race with no extra weight on board, adding 20 kilos to the weight they had in the UK.

The Volvo C30 Drive and BMW 320si cars will benefit from reductions on their minimum weight of 10 and 20 kilos respectively.

Compensation weight Donington Park
+ 40 kg Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T
± 0 kg BMW 320 TC, SUNRED SR León 1.6T
- 10 kg Volvo C30 Drive
- 20 kg BMW 320si
