A documentary film: A year with Tiago Monteiro

Everyday life of the busiest sportsman in the world. Such is the concept of French producer, Diran Noubar, and as such approached Tiago Monteiro to propose the realization of such a documentary. Noubar accompanied the Portuguese driver and businessman over the course of a year to immortalise the routine details of the greatest name in Portugal’s racing history. The result is an astonishing film which shows the driver’s hidden side. The documentary will be released in time for for the Cannes Festival, on the 12th of May.

Tiago underlined the difficulty and importance of the work put into this feature... "Honestly, I’ve been stunned by the result and by what Diran was able to do," Tiago said. "This piece of work required a big effort from him, persistency and also a lot of patience to bear with my temper (laughs)! For me, to be of interest to a French producer is a privilege. And it will be an honour to show it for the first time during the prestigious Festival de Cannes which is a worldwide reference in terms of cinema and audio-visual. This documentary was also a good opportunity to summarize my career so far and I hope the public will be as impressed as I’ve been by this footage."

This is the first time in history when an international producer has devoted such a documentary to a high level Portuguese athlete. The last Portuguese driver to have taken part in the Formula One world championship displays a flourishing career rewarded by this artistic work.

Diran Noubar is a French producer of Armenian and Italian origin. Born in Lyon in 1975, Noubar devoted several years carrying out documentaries on several and distinct fields of interest. Most recently he produced video clips such as "Unreachable" by Paradise Lost. Now Noubar is concentrating on the Motorsport theme, producing a documentary on former victorious F1 racer, Riccardo Patrese.
