Guy Wilks has revealed how the atmosphere in the Kronos Racing-run Peugeot UK team helped his charge to third place on the Intercontinental Rally Challenge season-opening Rallye Monte-Carlo last month.

The 30-year-old Briton switched to Peugeot UK for the 2011 season and marked his debut for the importer by securing the final spot on the podium on the centenary edition of Rallye Monte-Carlo in his 207 Super 2000.

“It’s always a tricky situation when you change car and team, to find out how they work and especially how the car works for me,” said Wilks. “I felt comfortable in the car and Peugeot UK were fantastic and made me feel very comfortable. All of this has allowed us to be very relaxed and that resulted in our third place.”

Wilks and Welsh co-driver Phil Pugh will resume their IRC campaign on Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés from 14-16 April, round two of the 12-event IRC season.
