He should not be out of action for too long
The Renault F1 Team released on Sunday evening an update on its reserve driver Ho-Pin Tung’s condition.
The Chinese driver was injured in an accident during the GP2 feature race, on Saturday afternoon, and taken to Budapest’s AEK Hospital where he remained in observation overnight.
“Following yesterday’s accident in the GP2 feature race at the Hungaroring, Ho-Pin Tung had an MRI scan this morning, which confirmed a very small fracture on the lumbar vertebra”, the team said. ”No surgery is required and his period of recovery is not expected to be an extended one. He will remain in Budapest’s AEK Hospital until Tuesday and will then return home to rest.”
“A further medical examination is scheduled for two weeks’ time to assess his recovery.”
