Testing gets underway for Ford Fiesta R5

Following a series of test-bed analysis at M-Sport’s factory base in Cumbria, this week saw the firm’s latest challenger – the Ford Fiesta R5 – complete its first official test.

After putting the all-new Fiesta through its preliminary system check, the team are now working on further durability and performance tests.

The test car is also adorned with an innovative new livery. Encompassing a QR code, the new design has been devised to keep potential customers, partners and fans up to date with the progress of the project.

M-Sport Managing Director, Malcolm Wilson OBE, said: “The initial tests have been very promising indeed. We still have a lot of work to do before the car is ready for its competitive debut, but at the moment the project is looking good. Needless to say, our team of designers and engineers are working hard to ensure that we produce a car that is not only affordable and easily maintained, but also highly competitive.”
