Tempestini looks ahead after completing

Marco Tempestini is already looking to the future after completing his 2012 IRC Production Cup campaign on the Cyprus Rally last week.

Tempestini, one of the IRC’s most loyal competitors this season having contested a total of nine events, slipped to fourth place in the final standings when a mechanical problem on the opening day in Cyprus dropped him down the order.

“It was a tough but a beautiful year in the IRC,” said the Italy-born Romanian. “Due to the technical problems we lost a place on the podium but I accept this and I try to learn from this.”

With the 2012 season over, Tempestini is targeting a full programme in the 2013 FIA European Rally Championship, which will be promoted by Eurosport Events – the IRC promoter – from next season onwards.

“We already start to work for next year’s programme and I’m thrilled with the new format of the ERC,” Tempestini said. “Our goal is to have a complete season in the ERC. Of course, after the experiences from this year I will reorganise the things in our team and hopefully we will solve the reliability problems for next year. Nothing is set yet about the car and the full programme, but I would like to start the year at Jännerrallye.”

While Tempestini was unable to hold his third place in the drivers’ standings, navigator Dorin Pulpea finished third in the final co-drivers’ table.
