Tempestini eager for IRC Production Cup

Marco Tempestini will start this week’s Prime Yalta Rally for a fourth time determined to score the points he needs to finish in the top three of the IRC Production Cup at the end of the season.

The Romania-based ace will contest the closing four rounds of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Italy and Cyprus in his Subaru Impreza R4 STI.

“We are second now in the IRC Production Cup and we will try to score as many points as possible in Yalta and Sliven, two rallies that we know very good,” said Tempestini. “Of course Sanremo will be another good opportunity for us, but for sure the fight for the title will be in Cyprus for the last round of the season. We need a good result in Yalta and we will do everything to get it.”

Andreas Aigner heads the IRC Production Cup standings by 27 points in his Stohl Racing Subaru. The Austrian isn’t competing in Yalta so Tempestini will be keen to capitalise on the three-time category winner’s absence.
