Petter Solberg is looking forward to the Rallye de France, 11th round of the season.

For the first time, the event will take place in the Alsace Region, in eastern France close to the German border. It was previously held on the Mediterranean island Corsica.

Solberg performed brilliantly on the recent asphalt rallies and is eager to tackle the brand new Rallye de France.

“I’m quite excited about another event on tarmac”, he said. “We have done a full day of testing before the event, with a good result. Also we know from both Bulgaria and Germany that we are competitive on tarmac.”

For the occasion, the Petter Solberg World Rally Team will welcome Yvan Muller on board. The 2008 WTCC Champion will drive Solberg’s 2009 Citroën Xsara. The car will be run in cooperation with Automeca.

“I also think it will be good fun for all of us to have Yvan with us in the team this weekend, and I’m sure he will enjoy the rally as the Xsara is amazing on tarmac!”, added the Norwegian.

A total of 69 cars are on the entry list for the Rallye de France, and 20 new stages. First stage starts Friday morning.
