Solberg gunning for victory in Spain

Petter Solberg came close to win on a couple of occasions this season and will be going all out for victory in Spain.

The Norwegian is eager to climb on the top step of the podium and will do everything he can to reach his goal on the Spanish Rally.

“I really want to win this event”, says Solberg. “And with dry conditions on the first day, I’m convinced we can do it. We will do whatever possible, and even some more, to finish on top. It is not easy for a small private team to fight with the big manufacturers, so this time I have put in some of my private’s funding to be able to have a real chance up against the others.”

This year’s edition will run on mixed surfaces: Friday’s stages will feature both gravel and asphalt, while Saturday and Sunday stages will be held on tarmac only.

Service Park and HQ are based in Salou. The stages will be run in the Tarragona and Costa Daurada regions of Catalunya.

53 crews are on the entry list and a total of 16 stages are waiting for the drivers.
