SS7: Ogier extends Mexico advantage

Sebastien Ogier has increased his lead over Citroen team-mate Sebastien Loeb to 2.6 seconds following his fourth stage win of Rally Guanajuato Mexico.

Loeb was second fastest through the stage, two seconds up on leading Ford driver Jari-Matti Latvala, who was third fastest.

Latvala’s Ford team-mate Mikko Hirvonen was fourth quickest and maintains his grip on the final podium spot.

M-Sport Stobart driver Matthew Wilson started the stage in fourth overall in his Fiesta RS WRC. However the Briton’s fine run came to an end 11 kilometres from the start line. Wilson and co-driver Scott Martin are reported to be out of the car, which is parked by the side of the road.

Petter Solberg, who crawled through the previous stage with a mechanical fault and lost seven minutes in the process, managed to start Ortega 2 - albeit three minutes late - after he and co-driver Chris Patterson carried out roadside repairs to their DS3 WRC.
