Sunday’s Sprint race in Valencia turned out to be quite difficult for Romain Grosjean: the Dams driver had to retire on the first lap at Turn 3.
After the start, the Frenchman hit Sam Bird’s car and then spun . His stricken car left no room for Rodolfo Gonzalez and Charles Pic to pass, and both of them collided with the Dams’ car.
After the end of the race, the stewards handed Grosjean with a ten grid position penalty for causing a collision with Bird. He will honour it in Silverstone.
