Racing Lions back in IRC with ace Betti

The famous Racing Lions team will return to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge this season, fielding a Peugeot 207 Super 2000 for Luca Betti on selected events.

Based in Italy, the squad guided Luca Rossetti to a quartet of IRC wins in 2007 and 2008, which earned the Italian ace the nickname Mr 100 Per Cent after he triumphed on four events in succession.

Betti, a regular on IRC rounds over the years, will contest June’s GEKO Ypres Rally and Barum Czech Rally Zlín at the end of August. Both rallies run in tandem with the FIA European Rally Championship. Fellow Italian Maurizio Barone will co-drive.

“It’s a great new challenge, I feel optimistic and will give it my best,” said the 31-year-old Betti.
