Prokop to run DMACK for 2013 campaign
Tyre firm hoping for success with improved WRC range
DMACK has announced that Ford Fiesta RS WRC driver Martin Prokop will use its tyres for his entire 2013 World Rally Championship campaign.
The Czech, who recorded DMACK’s best WRC finish to date with fourth in the 2012 Rally Argentina, will start his season on next week’s Rallye Monte Carlo and is expected to tackle at least 11 of this year’s 13 rounds.
Also on DMACK tyres in the WRC-opening event will be Michael Kościuszko who will drive a Ralliart Italia-prepared MINI WRC.
Jari Ketomaa will join the DMACK runners on round two in Sweden, his Fiesta RS WRC shod with an all-new winter snow tyre that he helped develop. One week earlier, Ketomaa will use the same tyre on the Latvian Rally Liepāja-Ventspils.
After finishing the 2012 season with its first fastest WRC stage time, courtesy of Evgeny Novikov in Spain, DMACK’s motorsport director, Dick Cormack is confident of more success in 2013.
“Rally de Espana last year was a key event for DMACK and proved that our motorsport tyres have the performance on both gravel and asphalt to compete at the top,” he said.
“We have a much improved winter snow tyre this year and expect it to be popular in both Latvia and Sweden. Jari will be strong on these events and we’re confident he can demonstrate how much progress we’ve made.”
DMACK will also be the tyre partner to the Ralliart Italy Cup - an FIA-approved one-make series within the new WRC 2 championship.
