Petter Solberg second in Spain
And already looking forward to the next rally
A good and clever drive from Petter Solberg on the final leg saw him hold on to his second place and split the factory Citroën cars on the finish line of Rally Spain.
The Norwegian did well to manage his gap to a charging Dani Sordo through the long stages of today and was delighted with this podium finish. He is now already looking forward to the next round of the championship, in three weeks time.
“Our second place today feels really good. This is a great result for both the team and us, and makes it extremely exciting for Wales in a couple of weeks”, he said. “I had everything under control today and drove on the split times that were sent to me in the car. I lost a few seconds when I didn’t get two of the splits but caught up with that on the next one. Now we will look ahead to Wales and make sure we are fully prepared as I really want to win there!”
Petter Solberg won four stages in Spain – SS2, SS5, SS12 and SS16.
Next event, and the season finale, is in Wales, 11. – 14. November 2010.
