Parmander tips Sandell for IRC success

Navigator Staffan Parmander believes his driver and fellow Swede Patrik Sandell will be capable of winning when they make their Intercontinental Rally Challenge debuts on Tour de Corse in May.

Parmander, pictured right with Sandell on a rally in Sweden last weekend, is linking up with Sandell for a seven-round attack in the IRC this season in a Škoda Sweden-backed Fabia Super 2000 run by the Czech JM Racing operation.

“We are going for victory that’s for sure,” said the 53-year-old Parmander. “With the driving Patrik is doing now I am sure we will be competitive. I rate him very highly and he showed me he is capable to be at the top.”

Entries for Tour de Corse, which takes place from 13-15 May, open yesterday and more information is available at www.asacc.fr.

Meanwhile, the IRC resumes with Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés, an all-asphalt rally on the island of Gran Canaria from 14-16 April.
