Ogier out in Wales
He crashed on the first stage
Sebastien Ogier has crashed out of Wales Rally GB, the deciding round of the 2011 World Rally Championship.
Ogier hit trouble approximately 1.6 kilometres into the first run of the 4.74-kilometre Great Orme test, taking a wheel off his Citroen DS3 WRC.
Petter Solberg damaged the right-rear of his privateer Citroen, clipping a kerb and taking the tyre off the rim. The Norwegian feared he’d damaged the bottom arm of his car’s rear suspension in the process.
The first 1.5 kilometres of the stage were held in dry conditions. However, the remainder of the test ran over damp and slippery roads.
