Sébastien Ogier secured his third Rally Sweden victory when he won the second round of the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship on Sunday.
The Frenchman led the three-day snow and ice rally from start to finish in a Volkswagen Polo to win by 29.8sec, adding to his triumphs in the Karlstad-based event in 2013 and 2015.
New Zealand’s Hayden Paddon finished second on his debut in Hyundai’s new-specification i20, with Norwegian Mads Østberg third in a Ford Fiesta RS, a further 25.8sec back.
Ogier also won the final live TV Power Stage to claim three bonus points. Andreas Mikkelsen took two points for second in a Polo R, while Kris Meeke claimed the final point in third in Citroën’s DS 3.
