This coming weekend will see the start of the 2010 GP2 Series Championship season, the second year in the series for Ocean Racing Technology, on the Circuit de Catalunya, in Spain, which is also hosting the first round of Formula One’s European campaign. The Portuguese team’s official drivers, Fabio Leimer and Max Chilton, will be making their debut in the main Formula One feeder series but they have already shown their great capability to adapt and surprising ability. During the last pre season test, held on the same Barcelona track, Fabio Leimer secured the 3rd best time while Chilton was 8th.

This good result bodes well for the Portuguese challenge, however Ocean Racing Technology is well aware of the work which still lays ahead. "We can get a good foothold in this championship if we succeed in finding a good set up in qualifying," Fabio Leimer explains. "The tests in Barcelona were very positive but I think that we can still make some improvements to our package. I know that if we can escape mechanical problems we will be fast in Barcelona and we will be able to fight with the leaders. We are on the right track and our intention now is to prove this at the opening race in Barcelona."

Max Chilton is also quite confident after the recent developments carried out by the Ocean Racing Technology team... "I hope that it will all go well for the team and that we will to secure our first points in Barcelona," declared Max Chilton. "The car was very good in Barcelona during winter testing and the improvement was very clear between the first and the last days of running. We were in the top 10 and we showed that we have the potential to be competitive and to race at the front. Therefore I think that our performance will be good and we will secure points in Barcelona."

Weather forecasters predict that the skies over Barcelona will be very cloudy, but the first races of the season, which will take place on May 8 and 9, should be free of rain.
