New IRC events excite star Hänninen

Juho Hänninen says he can’t wait for the 2012 Intercontinental Rally Challenge season to get underway because of the new events appearing on the calendar.

The upcoming IRC season will feature new rallies in Bulgaria, Ireland, Romania and San Marino and Hänninen is eagerly waiting for the action to begin.

“Next year holds some new rallies for us but that is exactly what makes this sport so exciting,” said Hänninen, IRC champion in 2010.

Hänninen, a winner of three IRC round in 2011, will continue with the factory ŠKODA Motorsport team for a fourth season alongside co-driver Mikko Markkula.

“I have learned a lot at ŠKODA Motorsport over the last three years and these have been more than good times for the entire team,” said the ace Finn. “I believe that we will be successful also next year and I am pretty certain that we are going to make another step ahead with the Fabia.”
