Neuville: I’m open to offers

Thierry Neuville admits he would listen to offers from manufacturer teams for the 2014 WRC season.

The Belgian has been one of the success stories of 2013. Driving a Ford Fiesta RS for the Qatar World Rally Team, Neuville is currently second equal in the WRC drivers’ standings after two second places and a third in the last three rounds.

While Volkswagen is sure to line-up with Sebastien Ogier, Jari-Matti Latvala and Andreas Mikkelsen next season, Citroen could ring the changes after a lacklustre season and Hyundai will be in the market for top line drivers to mark its return to the championship.

Neuville left Citroen at the end of 2012 with only a partial programme on offer for 2013. He switched to Malcolm Wilson’s M-Sport-run Qatar squad for a full 13-round season and retained the support of Nasser Al-Attiyah, who drives for the same team.

“I’m happy where I am for the moment because the team is doing an amazing job and Nasser and Malcolm gave me a big, big opportunity to drive this year,” Neuville told wrc.com. “I think with M-Sport I can have a great future. So we always say never change a team that is winning.

“But, at the same time, we didn’t win yet, we have just been on the podium. I’m open for everything and if there are some manufacturers or teams who want me to run, of course I’m listening and I will take my decision at the end,” he added.

Citroen boss Yves Matton said he would begin the process of building his 2014 squad after this weekend’s Rallye Deutschland and has praised Neuville for his recent performances.
