Moura credits team with Production victory

Ricardo Moura has paid tribute to his team of technicians following his victory in the IRC Production Cup on Sata Rallye Açores at the weekend.

The multiple Azorean champion dominated the showroom category in his Ralliart Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX.

Moura, who was co-driven by Sancho Eiró, said: “I am very happy to be the first Portuguese finisher. This is a result of a fantastic team. We are all together and 100 per cent focused on our job. And we did it.”

After finishing sixth overall, Moura added: “It was tough mission during the final day. We had a good gap to our rivals in the [Azorean and Portuguese] championships so it was tough to focus and tricky with a lot of fog. It was very muddy in some places also.”

Moura is the fifth different winner in the new-for-2011 IRC Production Cup. Swiss Subaru Impreza driver Florian Gonon continues to lead the standings despite not competing on the São Miguel-based event.
