Magalhães targets top five on Ypres

Bruno Magalhães wants to improve on his debut GEKO Ypres Rally performance when he returns to the event this week.

The Peugeot Sport Portugal star finished sixth overall on his first appearance on the specialised asphalt event in northwest Belgium 12 months ago.

“In 2010 I was very pleased with sixth place for my Ypres debut,” said the 30-year-old Portuguese driver. “My objective this time round will be to improve on that result and get back into the rhythm ahead of the summer’s two IRC rounds which both take place on Portuguese soil.”

Magalhães skipped the last Intercontinental Rally Challenge event in Ukraine earlier this month but holds eighth position in the drivers’ standings following impressive top 10 finishes in Canary Islands and Corsica earlier this season.

Paulo Grave will co-drive Magalhães in their Peugeot 207 Super 2000.
