Magalhães: Tour de Corse a must-do rally
“It’s a mythological race”
Bruno Magalhães has described next week’s Tour de Corse-E.Leclerc as a must-do event for all rally drivers.
The Peugeot Sport Portugal ace, an Intercontinental Rally Challenge event winner in 2010, will take part on the challenging event for the first time when it runs from 12-14 May. He will line up in a 207 Super 2000 alongside co-driver Paulo Grave.
“All I know about Corsica is what I read in newspapers, the Internet and of course the images on the television,” said the 30-year-old from Lisbon. “But it’s a mythological race and one that every driver wants to do one day. I am very happy to be doing this rally but I am told it will not be easy, with very twisty roads.”
He continued: “Without a pre-event test it will be difficult but I will do my best.”
Magalhães is currently 11th in the IRC drivers’ standings and will start the event as one of the favourites to claim a top 10 finish.
