Luiz Razia completes Arden GP2 driver line up season
Brazilian joins Trummer
Brazilian driver Luiz Razia has been confirmed by Arden Motorsport for the 2012 GP2 season, joining GP3 graduate Simon Trummer at the UK based team. This completes Arden’s driver line-up, as they aim for further success in the GP2 Series.
Luiz Razia, who drove for Team Lotus during Friday Practice sessions in Formula 1 last season, is set to start his 4th successive GP2 season. He has only won one race before, however he has consistently finished in the points throughout his career.
“I have won races already with Arden in the past and so there is no need to adapt myself to the team, I know them all already.” Explained Luiz Razia, “I’m very pleased to accept their invite to try and give them the results they deserve. I want to thank all the team for their trust in me and I will do my best to make sure we achieve the success that we all want."
Luiz Razia becomes the second Brazilian driver on the 2012 GP2 grid, alongside reigning British Formula Three Champion, Felipe Nasr. This announcement leaves only five vacancies on the 2012 GP2 grid, with the season opening Malaysian Grand Prix looming ever closer.
Pre-season testing begins this week, with a three day test at Jerez before a further three day test at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya the following week.
