Loix predicts five-way fight for Zlín IRC glory
"It’s not only me but also Juho Hänninen, Thierry Neuville and Jan Kopecký who are going to be very quick"
Freddy Loix has predicted a five-way battle for victory on Barum Czech Rally Zlín this weekend.
Loix, who won the event last season in a ŠKODA Motorsport Fabia Super 2000, believes the competitive nature of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge will result in a close fight for glory in Czech Republic.
“There are four or five drivers who are going to make a good fight to the end,” said the 40-year-old Belgian ace. “It’s not only me but also Juho Hänninen, Thierry Neuville and Jan Kopecký who are going to be very quick.”
Loix, who is co-driven in his BFO-ŠKODA Rally Team Fabia by countryman Frédéric Miclotte, prepared for Barum Czech Rally Zlín with a successful test 10 days ago.
“I am very well prepared,” said Loix. “I took some weeks off and then did a very good test 10 days ago. I had a good feeling with the car, even better than the rallies before. Shakedown this morning was not the same as the rally stages but I had a good feeling.”
