Latvala still out front after SS10
News after SS10
Jari-Matti Latvala continues to lead Rally Finland after SS10 and has extended his advantage over second placed Petter Solberg to exactly 10 seconds.
Latvala set the fastest time through the short SS9 but was beaten on SS10 by the men ahead of him in the start order - Sebastien Loeb and Sebastien Ogier - who found more speed on the repeated, swept, stage.
If Latvala holds the lead tonight he will be first in Saturday’s road order - a position which is likely to cost him time as he sweeps the road of loose gravel for the benefit of those behind.
In the circumstances, Petter Solberg was delighted to remain second but in-touch with the lead. “It was always my plan to lose time in this stage,” he said at the finish.
Sebastien Ogier holds third place, 11.1sec behind Solberg, while Loeb is 10.9sec further back in fourth.
