Kubica tipped to keep winning
Ex-grand prix racer expected to achieve more success with Citroen
He’s won in Formula One and there’s no reason why he can’t continue winning in rallying.
That’s Benoit Nogier’s view of Robert Kubica ahead of this week’s Rallye du Var, which the Pole will tackle in a Citroen Racing Technologies-prepared C4 WRC overseen by Nogier.
Following his victory by half a minute on Rally di Como in Italy last weekend, Kubica is gearing up to contest the French championship finale in the south of the country from 22-25 November. And Nogier, the boss of Citroen Racing Technologies, believes the ex-BMW Sauber racer can win again.
Speaking to WRC.com, Nogier said: “Of course the level will be higher than in Italy with people like Freddy Loix competing but from what we saw last weekend Robert can win for sure. The way he works and how he analyses the situation is very impressive. He is still inexperienced in rallying but his technical feedback is very good and he is doing all the right things.”
Nogier said no discussions had taken place with Kubica over extending his current two-event agreement with Citroen, but added: “We hope he will have a good rally and that he wants to carry on in the future.”
