Menyhért Krózser will return to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge on the Donnelly Group Circuit of Ireland Rally this week aiming to build on Honda’s impressive showing on Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés last month.

Angel Marrero and German Hernandez scored a one-two for Honda in the IRC 2WD Cup section of the asphalt event. Now Krózser, who skipped the trip to Gran Canaria, will be bidding to add to Honda’s impressive tally with a top-three finish in class in Northern Ireland from 6/7 April.

Krózser will pilot a Honda Civic Type R for Gyula Hering alongside regular co-driver György Papp.

“If we can close the first competition day with a place in the top five, then I will be a very happy man,” he said. “We need a strong starting position going into day two so that we can get a good score in the IRC 2WD Cup.”

Krózser prepared for the Circuit of Ireland with a test in his native Hungary recently. He plans to finalise the set-up he will use on the Armagh-based event during Thursday night’s shakedown.

“A lot depends on the weather conditions, because the weather in Northern Ireland is very unpredictable, with sunshine and rain. That makes the tyre choice crucial,” said the Hungarian 2WD champion, who will compete under the MHH Racing Team banner.
