Kopecký targets finish on Rally Argentina

Jan Kopecký says that he is more concerned about reaching the finish of Rally Argentina on Sunday than targeting a top result on the gravel event.

The works Škoda Motorsport driver admits he still needs to build his experience of competing on gravel rallies and says completing all the stages in Argentina is paramount to that process.

He said: “It’s my first time on this rally and it’s going to be really difficult. On the recce I noticed a lot of loose stones and rocks and even in the shakedown the conditions changed a lot. I just want to come to the finish because I need experience on gravel.”

Kopecký, from Czech Republic, is fifth overall after Friday’s opening superspecial stage through the streets of Carlos Paz.
