Subaru Poland factory driver Kajetan Kajetanowicz will contest the Intercontinental Rally Challenge events in Belgium and Czech Republic.

The Polish championship frontrunner, who drives a Subaru Impreza run by Belgium-based Symtech Racing, is tackling the IRC rounds as an addition to his domestic programme. The extra events have been made possible because his team has found a new sponsor.

Although the Polish championship remains his priority, Kajetanowicz is keen to build his experience of competing outside his homeland in his 2010-specification Symtech-built Impreza STR010.

Team boss Dirk van der Sluys said: "I’m really pleased we’re able to take in some rounds of the IRC. From our point of view, as a Belgian team, we’re particularly pleased he’s doing the Geko Ypres Rally. He showed himself capable of winning events overall in Poland last year and I’ll be fascinated to see how he compares against the IRC regulars."
