Freddy Loix has won Rali Vinho Madeira for the first time to join Kris Meeke at the top of the list of all-time Intercontinental Rally Challenge event winners.

Loix, from Belgium, whose win was his fifth in the IRC and his second from as many starts this season, led home a Škoda podium lockout with Jan Kopecký second and Juho Hänninen third.

Loix underlined his dominance by going fastest on the rally-closing Chão da Lagoa test, his 14th stage win of the event.
