IRC celebrations galore in Cyprus

There were celebrations aplenty when the all-action International Rally Challenge season six – the last for the foreseeable future as promoter Eurosport Events turns its attentions to the new-look FIA European Rally Championship from 2013 – drew to a close in Cyprus last week.

Andreas Mikkelsen and Ola Fløene secured their second consecutive IRC crown for ŠKODA UK Motorsport. Robert Consani and Nicolas Klinger won the IRC Production Cup for Renault. Harry Hunt clinched the IRC 2WD Cup with injured co-driver Robbie Durant taking the navigators’ award from afar. ŠKODA completed the season as IRC manufacturers’ champion for a third time, while Renault celebrated victory in the IRC 2WD Cup manufacturers’ stakes.

The various IRC award winners for 2012 will be formally recognised at a ceremony in Paris on 13 December.
