Rafael Tulio has become the first two-time winner in this season’s IRC 2WD Cup following a dominant victory in the class on Sata Rallye Açores.
The Brazilian’s success, which follows his triumph in the two-wheel drive division on Rally Argentina in March, puts him four points clear of Pierre Campana in the drivers’ table after seven rounds.
Driving a Peugeot 206, which he hired from a Portuguese preparation firm, Tulio looked in control from the outset, despite never having tackled the demanding gravel event before.
Carlos Oliveira took second in the class with Joao Faria making it a Peugeot 206 one-two-three.
