Harry Hunt has described his return to Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse last week as “eventful, tiring and brilliant”.

The British driver finished third in the IRC 2WD Cup in 20th overall on the Intercontinental Rally Challenge qualifier following a strong drive in his Citroën DS3 R3T.

Co-driven by fellow Briton Robbie Durant, Hunt could have been even higher up the order had it not been for fuel pump problems on day one and a puncture early on day two.

“It’s been an eventful and tiring rally, but I’ve had a brilliant weekend,” said the 23-year-old. “The stages in Corsica were very demanding and the temperatures were unusually hot for this time of year, especially on Saturday when there wasn’t much time for a break between the stages to cool down. We really enjoyed the new stages on Saturday though, the roads in Corsica have an incredible amount of grip and we were able to get into a good rhythm. We drove at a consistent pace and enjoyed ourselves.”

Hunt is a former IRC 2WD Cup champion. He Is set to tackle at least 10 rounds of this year’s Eurosport-backed series and is due to compete next on Targa Florio-Rally Internazionale Di Sicilia from 14-16 June.
