Johan Helöise’s co-driver Thibault Gorczyca is targeting IRC Production Cup glory in 2012, adding that the Subaru Impreza-mounted duo are “300 per cent” motivated for the upcoming campaign.

Helöise, who hails from the Caribbean island of Martinique, and Frenchman Gorczyca are planning to contest several Intercontinental Rally Challenge events next season with the Italian Top Run Racing operation starting with February’s Sata Rallye Açores. They tackled selected IRC events in 2011 with Helöise impressing against more experienced opposition.

“We know that the challenge is raised but we have one of the best teams in the world – Top Run has already proven in the past by winning several championships,” said Gorczyca. “The goal is simple, win our class and we are 300 per cent driven. The IRC is very varied and complicated. But we have a top car, a top team and a top driver.”

The IRC Production Cup was run for the first time in 2011. Swiss Florian Gonon was the inaugural champion at the wheel of his Annie Spiers Rallye Team Impreza.
