Gassner aims for Corsica finish…

Hermann Gassner Jr will resume his bid for Intercontinental Rally Challenge glory this week intent on reaching the finish of Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse.

The Red Bull-backed German star failed to finish Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés in mid-March when he crashed his ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 on the final morning. He plans to hit back in the best possible way by going the distance in Corsica.

He said: “Even though it will be my first Corsican rally I know you have to be extremely careful. I want to complete the rally and not make any mistakes.”

Gassner Jr’s team boss Raimund Baumschlager said: “This is certainly the most difficult asphalt rally in the world but we’re expecting an error-free rally by Hermann.”

Hermann Gassner Jr supports charity initiative

Leading Intercontinental Rally Challenge driver Hermann Gassner Jr is helping the Red Bull Racing Formula One team’s Faces for Charity campaign.

The German ace, who will make his debut on Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse this week, is helping to publicise the Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation initiative at the British Grand Prix in July.

As part of the campaign the Red Bull Racing cars of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber will feature a photo collage of thousands of fans when they race at Silverstone on 8 July. Gassner Jr is encouraging fans to get involved by visiting www.facesforcharity.com.
