Gasly joins the Caterham Racing GP2 team to complete the season

Red Bull Junior Pierre Gasly will expand his racing experience by campaigning the remaining three rounds of the 2014 GP2 series.

The 18-year-old Frenchman joins the Caterham Racing GP2 team and his first two races will be at Monza on September 6th and 7th. He will complete the year with the races in Sochi and Yas Marina.

The chance to contest the ultra competitive series has just arisen and naturally the reigning Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 champion was very keen to accept the new challenge and gain valuable knowledge at the Formula One venues.

These events do not clash with his existing Formula Renault 3.5 series commitments where he lies third, chasing points leader and fellow Red Bull Junior Carlos Sainz Jr. for the title. There are also six Renault races remaining and the next two are at the Hungaroring on September 13th and 14th.
