Antonín Tlusťák will have a new co-driver on round two of the FIA European Rally Championship.

With Jan Škaloud standing down due to work commitments, Tlusťák has recruited Lukáš Vyoral to co-drive his GPD Mit Metal Racing Team ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000 from Rally Liepāja-Ventspils in Latvia onwards.

Vyoral has been competing in the European Historic Rally Championship with Miroslav Janota but is relishing his new programme with his fellow Czech.

“I am looking forward to the cooperation with Antonín Tlusťák, starting in the ŠKODA Fabia S2000 is big challenge for me,” said Vyoral. “I have international experience thanks to cooperation with Miroslav Janota last year, so I hope it will not be so big step for me.”

Škaloud began co-driving Tlusťák in 2008. They won the ERC-counting Rallye International du Valais in Switzerland together in 2011 but retired at the completion of leg one of the International Jännerrallye earlier this month.

Tlusťák and Vyoral will practice for Rally Liepāja-Ventspils, which takes place from 1-3 February, by contesting the Halls Winter Rally in the Lithuanian city of Utena on 26 January. Tlusťák’s fellow GPD Mit Metal Racing Team driver Jaroslav Orsák will also be in action.
