FIA confirms WRC entrants
Seven teams to chase manufacturers’ championship points
Motorsport’s world governing body, the FIA, has published the final list of entrants and nominated rallies for the 2012 FIA World Rally Championship powered by Nokia.
The 12-strong list features eight separate entrants, four of who will enter two-car teams.
Citroen Total World Rally Team, Ford World Rally Team, M-Sport Ford World Rally Team and WRC Team MINI Portugal will contest all remaining rounds, starting with Rally Argentina later this month. However, WRC Team MINI Portugal is not eligible for manufacturers’ championship points.
Qatar World Rally Team will also be in action on the final nine events of the year, while the Citroen Junior World Rally Team will skip the rounds in New Zealand and Italy.
The Brazil World Rally Team, which returned to WRC action on the last round in Portugal, hasn’t nominated Finland, Great Britain or Italy. The Adapta World Rally Team won’t chase points in Greece, New Zealand or Italy.
