The FERM Power Tools World Rally Team will compete in the fourth round of the FIA World Rally Championship at Jordan this week. For Dennis Kuipers it is a first introduction to the gravel alongside the Dead Sea in his Ford Fiesta RS WRC. The heat has traditionally been an important factor during the only WRC event in the Middle East.

Kuipers is in good shape after his tenth position in Portugal. "I’m looking forward to Jordan. I expect that a lot will happen there. After studying onboard footage of last year it seems particularly difficult to see the correct tracks in the vast landscape."

A complicating factor is the absence of regular navigator Frederic Miclotte who is competing in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge. His temporary replacement in the Ford Fiesta RS WRC is Bjorn Degandt.

Degandt is an experienced co-pilot, together with Hans Weijs, he triumphed in the J-WRC on the Rally of Germany. "I am very motivated to compete with Dennis in the WRC rally of Jordan. It is a unique opportunity for me, in a great team, with a quick Fiesta RS WRC, what else can I wish for? "

In the run up to the first joint WRC rally the duo started in the Ede short rally, a round of the Dutch championship. “We needed some experience together in order to get a mutual understanding the Fiesta RS WRC,” explains Kuipers. Their first rally together proved to be a success as they won the rally and every stage.
