GP3 Series Champion Esteban Gutierrez will drop ten positions on tomorrow’s sprint race starting grid in Barcelona after the stewards found him guilty of causing a collision with Michael Herck in today’s feature race.
The Lotus ART man was fighting with the Romanian for eleventh place in the final stages of the event and, when trying to overtake on the inside, he could not avoid crashing into the Coloni car which resulted in the two cars stopping on the track and retiring.
As a consequence, the Mexican was handed a ten grid position penalty.
