Edoardo Piscopo joins Trident Racing
Italian will replace Johnny Cecotto Jr in Monza
With just a few days to go before the ninth round of the 2010 season which will take place in Monza this weekend, Trident Racing have announced that Italian Edoardo Piscopo will replace Johnny Cecotto Jr.
Piscopo and Trident Racing previously oirked together during a GP2 Series winter test in Jerez in 2009. The young Italian also raced this winter in the GP2 Asia Series with Dams during which his best result was a fifth place finish.
Edoardo Piscopo said: “I’m really happy to make my GP2 Series debut with Trident Racing at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. The track is really special to me, as I’ve always finished on the podium there in junior open-wheel competition. I have to thank my father who has made this possible. My goal is to improve as the weekend progresses, and try and make my way to the points. I know it won’t be easy since I have less experience than most of the field.”
