After SS8: Hänninen closes on Kopecký

Juho Hänninen’s second stage victory has put him within touching distance of Škoda Motorsport team-mate Jan Kopecký (pictured) after the Czech driver suffered a puncture on Saturday’s opening stage. Peugeot UK’s Kris Meeke’s overall lead remains firmly intact after he set the third fastest time behind countryman Guy Wilks.

There was disappointment for local hero Daniel Oliveira, who lost almost five minutes when he picked up a puncture in his Peugeot 207. He has slipped from sixth to eighth in the overall standings

Kris Meeke continues to lead overall in his Peugeot 207 with Guy Wilks now 35.7s behind.

Juho Hänninen has cemented his third place on Rally Internacional de Curitiba with his third stage victory of leg two and his fourth of the event. Guy Wilks was second fastest on the 10.47-kilometre stage but was only able to shave three-tenths of a second from Kris Meeke’s overall lead.

Crews are now returning to service at Curitiba’s race circuit.
