Double British Rally Champion Keith Cronin has a lot of expectation riding on him at the RACMSA Rally of Scotland this weekend, having shown excellent pace in his first Intercontinental Rally Challenge event for Proton in the Czech Republic.

“I think there’s probably a lot of pressure on Keith this weekend,” said Iain Campbell, Rally of Scotland Clerk of the Course. “He went to Zlin, and my feeling was that the established competitors perhaps didn’t expect an awful lot, and then he blew them away with the times he was setting. The international media sat up and took notice.

“Now he’s back on home ground, having just won the British Rally Championship for the second time. Considering the times he set on unknown terrain at Zlin, he should be on fire here. He’s got a lot to prove.”

"It’s my first time in this car on the gravel and for sure the pace is going to be very quick at the front,” said Cronin. “I’m just going to do my own thing."
