Burcu makes history in Scotland

Burcu Cetinkaya became the first lady driver to score an IRC point in Scotland.

The Turkish driver placed her Peugeot 207 S2000 eighth at the end of the penultimate round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge last week. Cetinkaya was contesting the Rally of Scotland for the first time and was impressed with the forest roads in Perth and Stirlingshire.

Cetinkaya and co-driver Cicek Guney are the only all-female crew contesting the IRC and they were both pleased to end their season on a high, with two IRC points.

“We’re happy to have some points,” said Cetinkaya. “Scotland has been a tough rally, but the roads are great. It’s been an interesting conclusion to our first season in the Peugeot.”
